Sharp has announced its latest lineup of smartphones, comprising the Aquos R9 and Aquos wish4, initially available exclusively in Japan but with plans for expansion to other markets like Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Aquos R9:
- The Aquos R9 is a high-end offering from Sharp, featuring a 6.5-inch Full HD+ OLED display with an impressive 240 Hz refresh rate, promising unparalleled smoothness in visuals and mobile gaming.
- Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip and 8 GB of RAM, alongside 256 GB of storage, the device ensures seamless multitasking and ample storage capacity.
- Its standout feature is the camera setup, boasting three 50-megapixel sensors developed in collaboration with Leica. These include a main sensor with OIS lens, a 122-degree ultrawide lens, and a punch-hole selfie camera.
- Other notable features include a large 5,000 mAh battery, IP68 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, and support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and microSD card expansion.
- The device will be available in white and green color options, with pricing and availability details to be announced.
Aquos wish4:
- The Aquos wish4 is a rugged smartphone designed for durability, featuring a reinforced display certified to withstand drops and resistant to water and dust. It comes with MIL-STD-810H certification and IPX5, IPX8, and IP6X ratings.
- Despite its ruggedness, the device maintains a sleek design, housing a 6.6-inch display with modest resolution but offering decent performance with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and 4 GB of RAM.
- Photography enthusiasts can enjoy a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP front camera for biometric unlocking, along with features like NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac support.
- The Aquos wish4 is set to launch in Japan in July 2024, catering to users who prioritize durability without compromising on style or functionality.
