Apple has made a new tool available for developers. This tool helps them get information about transactions made with Apple Card and Apple Cash.

FinanceKit

Apple’s iOS 17.4 update brings significant enhancements to financial management for users, introducing FinanceKit, a new API enabling third-party budgeting apps to access transaction and balance information from Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings accounts. This development follows the integration of Mint into Intuit Credit Karma, expanding options for users seeking to track their finances beyond Apple’s interfaces. Although Apple didn’t formally announce this change, apps like Monarch, Copilot, and YNAB have already implemented the feature, providing automatic synchronization of transactions and real-time spending data. Moreover, Apple’s expansion into financial products, including the 2019 release of Apple Card and the launch of a savings account in partnership with Goldman Sachs, underscores its commitment to offering comprehensive financial solutions. This initiative aligns with Apple’s broader strategy to enhance user engagement with its digital wallet services, evidenced by achieving an all-time revenue record in the payment services category during the previous year’s third quarter.
